AFRICA GAMING EXPO – DAY TWO RECAP

The Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) 2026 delivered a dynamic lineup of sessions focused on responsible gaming, African sports gamification, Francophone market opportunities, tackling unlicensed operators, and promoting culturally relevant game content. A major highlight was the session on ethical frameworks and player behavior, where experts emphasized the use of behavioral analytics, human intervention, and culturally sensitive strategies to prevent problem gambling, with global insights shared by industry leaders including Cleveland Allen.

The conference also explored how Africa can position itself as a global force through innovation and regulation, with Segun Odegbami highlighting the economic potential of gamifying African sports. Discussions on Francophone markets revealed growing opportunities driven by regulatory reforms, digital transformation, and the need for strong local partnerships, while panels on unlicensed operators stressed the importance of balanced regulation, cross-border collaboration, and coordinated enforcement to protect players and revenue.

In addition, conversations around creativity and culture underscored the importance of storytelling, local content development, and intellectual property protection in building globally competitive African games. Overall, speakers consistently emphasized regulation, innovation, collaboration, and local relevance as key drivers for a sustainable gaming ecosystem.

The expo concluded on a high note with the launch of the AGE App, the AFRI Pitch competition, and an exciting GD Lotto Lucky Draw, reinforcing Africa’s growing influence and potential in the global gaming industry.
